Addressing a public rally at the Ruwanwella public esplanade to consolidate the victory of the Freedom Alliance, the President said the troops after liberating the East are responding to the terrorists in the North in their own language, shattering their strongholds. The terrorists are on the run. A majority of these soldiers, who are risking their lives, do not have an inch of land. They are doing their best to protect every inch of land of their motherland. This should not be forgotten. Politics are not involved in this endeavour. It is an issue of the motherland. The public should be aware that this is their motherland. The President urged the people to protect it. He added that it is their duty and obligation to safeguard it.
