Just thought I would point this out. . . You know. . . seeing as you seem to have missed the page that displayed the date before the video actually started. . . and seeing as you miss heard her. . .

Nov 30, 2008 - I don't think the education system is the problem. I think the problem is that people are taking education less seriously. They think it's cool to act like idiots. It's not going to be cool when they can't find a job once they graduate.
Kari166 Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - You're telling me that you're going to let this one moron represent MILLIONS of people?
int3rl0per Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - No. I'm telling you that American idiocy is represented in greater numbers than American genious. I am also telling you that due to the perceived statistical bias towards substandard mental capacity, the American Joe Average has become a worldwide laughing stock.
This is not helped by news coverage of your educational system, or indeed your PISA scores. You allowing the reign of President Bush, even though presented with evidence of his unsuitability for the role strengthens the negative image.

Nov 30, 2008 - Thanks. This vid is posted somewhere else and I wrote a similar comment. Another user took me seriously and got kind of agro about. Honestly, his response was way funnier than mine. I've got a bunch of sketches up if you want to check them out - jakefleisher

Nov 30, 2008 - The problem is not them finding jobs because - believe me - they will. The problem is the gradual dumbing down of your society, and as a short term result of America's massive media influence, our societies as well, to a lesser extent. In the medium term this will lead to the US of A falling behind the rest of the world in research, education and the international labour market. In the long term it could well lead to the US becoming a shattered theocratic warzone, somewhat like the middle east.
int3rl0per Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - Another funny thing about your comment is that if I were British, you'd just have called me a cigarrette which, I must admit, would be a very peculiar insult.

Dec 1, 2008 - It's not the media's fault, though.
int3rl0per Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - The state of your media (have you watched Fox News lately?) is driven by a kind of negative feedback loop - the public demands news that everyone can understand and appreciate, in a small timeframe. Because content quality is determinaed by the lowest common denominator, you get dumbed-down and inaccurate reporting. Once the public gets accustomed this, they forget that it's already simplified, and demand "even easier" news. The media obliges. This leads to the situation of today.

TheAmazingOti Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - If people cared about the truth, knowledge and all that shit, they would look for it. They'd stop listening to sources that are bullshit and strive to be better.
Some do. Most don't.
Therefore, I don't blame the media.

Dec 2, 2008 - Is this a joke? It is hard to believe that people are this dumb. Or maybe it isn't.
